【明报专讯】Have you ever thought of greener places to live? Around the world, many places are designing eco-friendly cities to protect the environment and create a better living environment for citizens, or even for the globe.

Saudi Arabia The Line

Saudi Arabia is building The Line, a brand-new city along the Red Sea. It is 170 kilometres long but only 200 metres wide. Everything people need, including accommodation, schools, offices, shops and parks, will be inside the community.

There will be no cars, but a clean high-speed train which can take people from one end to the other in just minutes. The Line is now under construction and aims to be one of the world's most futuristic and eco-friendly cities.

Denmark Copenhagen Cycle City

Copenhagen is known as one of the world's most bicycle-friendly cities because it has hundreds of kilometres of safe bike lanes and over half of its people cycle to school or work every day. This helps reduce pollution efficiently. The city aims to become carbon neutral, showing how good planning can help tackle global climate problems.

Singapore City in a Garden

Singapore calls itself a City in a Garden. The city's planning ensures greenery and green spaces. Many buildings have vertical gardens and there are trees and plants everywhere. People can enjoy parks, sky gardens and walking paths close to their homes. The famous Gardens by the Bay has 18 solar-powered ''supertrees'' which collect sunlight and help power the garden.
